On June 11th, Şefika from Turkey and Mathias from Switzerland came to visit us!

Şefika, being a practitioner of the Sufi whirling dance, had an exceptional sense of body alignment and control. Her adaptability to my Butoh choreography method was also remarkable.

Mathias is an oud player. Perhaps because he is a musician, his dancing was rich in tempo and rhythm, as if the music had become visible—truly pleasant to watch.

I heard that Mathias once participated in a Butoh workshop led by my former boss, Ko Murobushi. The unexpected mention of my boss brought back a deep sense of nostalgia.
